Well, I just came downstairs and this is what I found. My life is just the best.

Hmmm, reminds me of someone. Here's a hint, I've slept the last eight years with someone elses elbow in my ear so...

Uncle Drew and Aunt Jamie (Stacy's sister). They barely escaped the ice and snow of Arkansas' Christmas long enough to come and hold the baby. It was kind of a whirlwind trip for them, but we're glad they got to come

Proud Grandparents. These are Stacy's parents from Arkansas. They are also known as Poppie and Grandmarmie. It's taken a LONG time to settle on the names, but the true test will come when Christopher decides on peoples names. So far they are "those nice people that aren't mommy and daddy who hold me". Not a bad place to start.

He's really an amazingly intelligent young man...very efficient. At a week and a half old, this is his first spontaneous thumb-sucking WHILE ALSO poking himself in the opposite eye with a finger on the same hand AND scratching an itch with the other three. He has so many great things ahead. Check back often.

THIS is my Merry Christmas.

This is one kid whose ready to meet Santa for the first time!

Have a RamaHanuKwanzMas.

Christopher would like to take this opportunity on Christmas Eve to extend his thanks to all of his well-wishers.

Okay, it's official. At a week and a half, he's already become just another little old man sleeping in his recliner (remote not included). More picture of facial expressions will come as he awakes. (Sorry the updates are coming slowly...technical difficulties.)

Christopher would like to extend a laurel and hearty handshake to to all viewers at the Arkansas State Capital and cordial greetings to the Governor's staff.

It's a classic baby story. Mommy tries to bathe baby. In turn, baby clutches mommys hair and pees on her. Excellent.

Yeah, somehow I'm not getting "visions of sugar plums" dancing in that head.

This is Stacy's dad and was shortly after coming home from the hospital. It doesn't take those little things long to figure out the prime places to go to sleep (pups included).

Not a bad looking kid for a less-than-a-week old.

By request.

Okay, we here at the blog have received requests for proof of the fathers existence. It's just tough to be behind the camera and in front of it at the same time.

Deep Thoughts...

How amazing is it that I'm 40 years old, but it feels like my life never began until this week?

Friday, December 17, 2004

It's not every baby that comes with their own watchdog. Grace has rarely let him out of her sight since he came home. Every pup needs a little boy.

I think this is what is commonly referred to as a little bundle of joy. I'll just call him my little tax deduction...and just in time. Woohoo!

This is cpf2 getting the standard postpartum poking and prodding.

That's pretty smiley for a person on the verge of becoming TWO people.

So...

Okay. Here's what I know.

cpf2 is no longer an abstract concept, but is now here. He's amazing. By his mere existence, he's amazing. He rolled out at 3:19am. 7 lbs. 10 3/4 oz and 20 1/2" in length.

Stacy is doing really well. Frankly I'm damn impressed with the way she's carried herself tonight.

Currently, I feel like I've been beaten with a stick, but all things considered I won't complain. I mean, I wasn't just stuffed down a pvc pipe, nor did I shoot a canned ham out of my ass, so...

Pictures when I can get on my own 'puter at home.

Back to it...

...and so it begins. Here we go...

okay, I've gotten a lot of editorializing lately. THIS is the mommy. We're going to make this pic the cover of her forth-coming holiday book. Check for it on Amazon.com.

uh...Batman.
This means there's not particular baby news today, but I wanted to practice posting. Besides, no one likes a blog that doesn't have new things.

Here's the mommy (action shot). That expression is "Um, can we get on with this...not as fun as it used to be." She's holding up pretty well though.

Look, I figured out how to post photos! So this is him at the end of November. (If you can't see him, tilt your head to the right and look for a face that takes up about half of the area)
