My little geek

I've got an old pair of glasses I keep on the nightstand for reading. The other day, someone ran up to me wearing them and wearing is hat backwards (not really happy about that part). From the looks of this picture, he has great potential for being beaten up in school if we're not mindful of some genetic geekness he must possess. Better to realize it now, I guess.

Oh noooooooooooooooooo!

Yes, this picture fills my entire being with mortal dread.
There is a positive though. From the first time he picked up those sticks, he had better grip and mechanics than half of the percussion students I ever taught. (Note to all former Powell and NLR drummers being offended by that statement: First, I said "half", not all. Second, look at the grip and positioning and tell me it's not true (he did it himself, I was too stunned). Third, oh get over yourselves! You've graduated and moved on to other stuff.

Vroom vroom.

Since I'm having to do a bit of catching up, here is Christopher and his daddy checking out the hardware (one of Christopher's favorite activities) at the Bass Pro Shop in Denver. This was in January as we made our way out to Winter Park for ski fun and knee injuries.
Most kids are compelled to ride those little danger zones outside Wal-mart and the grocery store. cpf2 is equally happy to hop up on the lawn mowers lined up outside the Home Depot and pretend for a while...and you don't have to pump quarters into it either!

Little sneak

It seems that as Christopher gets older, he gets a bit sneakier an quieter...when he decides to. One day I went to check on the progress of his nap, but alas, what I found was an empty bed and a little boy up on the bathroom counter, sitting on the tissue dispenser and dousing himself with hand sanitizer. (He'll also occasionally go into the laundry room and "pre-treat" himself, but that's a different story.) He also has that 80's pop band weed eater hair-do thing goin' too. I'm diggin' it.
Next thing you know, he'll be crawling out on the window sill with a lollipop. (yeah, that was me.)

24 off, and 24 on

Here is young Christopher working very hard on his way to putting out the dreaded driveway fire. I sleep better knowing he's close by and on the job.

FINE!

Oh sure. Don't update for a couple of days and people start giving you all grades of heck. It's not like I've missed...seven months...or something.
Anyway, we're rolling again (I think) so lets start off with a disembodied head and a goofy expression all in one.
It'll get better. Thank you for being patient (and those of you who weren't!)
